Help! I think I either killed my ram or motherboard, and I'm not sure which it is.
So I found some spare RAM laying around and figured it wouldn't hurt to see if it boosted my computer. Well, the first time I put the RAM in nothing happened, the computer didn't even boot. So, I took it out and it booted back up as normal. So I tried putting the RAM in again (I have dual channel RAM and wasn't sure if I had put it in correctly or not).
Well, while doing this, I wasn't paying too much attention to my GPU and I think the prongs scratched or chipped my mobo.
The red circles in this image show where I think I may have damaged my mobo. The circle on the right is hard to tell, it just looks as if it were possibly scratched.
Here is another shot of the chip in the board. I'm not actually sure if this has caused any damage to my mobo, but I just want to be sure.
So, now I have two issues. When my regular 4gb stick of RAM is in the computer, I get beeps and diagnostic lights indicating that my RAM is dead/not working. When I put in placeholder RAM (it's not actual ram, it just helps complete the circuit I believe. I tried it just to see if it would help.) and boot up, my diagnostic lights indicate that my one of PCI/PCI-e slots has an issue.
TL;DR - Put in some RAM I found laying around, possibly killed my current RAM. Possibly chipped my mobo putting my GPU back in.
Edit: Since nobody is answering I guess I should clarify that I'm wondering which is causing the problem.
