Mobile Earthquake Simulator at the Quad This Afternoon

Come experience an earthquake in a mobile earthquake simulator! Feel firsthand what we can expect during a large magnitude earthquake in northern Nevada. The "Big Shaker" is a mobile earthquake simulator where you can practice "Drop, Cover, Hold On" and think about safety of your house. Northern Nevada can have an event larger than M7.0, but many of us are not prepared. Nevada Seismological Laboratory seismologists will be available to answer questions about our seismic hazards and give tips for earthquake safety. The simulator will be located on the east side of the UNR Quad on August 12th between 1:30 and 4:30 PM.
