Holy Blade advice

I've been using the Holy Blade and blood gems for Skill scaling +12 and additional physical damage. My strength, skill and arcane are around 20. I'm wondering what avenue is it best to level my weapon and where is the best place to farm relevant blood gems.

I'm stuck on the Hunter in the Grand Cathedral that fucks your shit up.
