A new generator

So, I am an amateur when it comes to programming, but most of what I'm thinking can be done on an excel sheet with a lot of time put into it.

I'm wanting to see how many people would like for me to put together a generator for a town.

Not just the simplicity of the layout, but I'm wanting the Layout with names for the inns, shops, etc with them labeled on it. Generating the NPC's with their quirks and traits (that you will be able to choose variables for and whatnots).

TLDR: im wanting to build a generator for a town's every need. Including the names of VIP's and certain buildings/landmarks. What im needing from Reddit are some good ideas that I may not think of for the generator AND any sources for research purposes.

There is no ETA for how long this program will take me as it will be my first time BUT I'm tired of brainstorming for hours on something that should/could only take 5-10mins.
