[Question] I never got blue balls as a teenager and now I get them in my early twenties. Why is that?

I suppose I should elaborate about myself. When I was a teenager I used to masturbate to pornography, and I had plenty of times that I desired sex but I didn't get it, but I never got blue balls. I also never dated, so there were plenty of times I physically desired it.

I am now in a relationship and will eventually get married, and both of us are abstinent, so maybe that's how the blue balls comes in. I guess I don't understand why it is exclusively now for me and I never had it years ago as a quasi sexually active teenager. Any thoughts? I appreciate the comments :)
