[Tech] No audio port on my monitor, how do I get audio?

I have this monitor that doesn't have built in speakers or even an audio port that speakers can connect to. It's driving me crazy now because I don't even feel like playing. can someone please help? I've heard of spdif but how does that work? Also, if I got the new controller with the 3.5 mm jack, could I just plug headphones into there which will give me audio? some help would greatly be appreciated.
