[Discussion] - Recommended Usage of Tags in /r/Tasker Submission Titles
For those who are missing out on the satire of the title in the recently stickied post:
[HOW TO] Using the Taskerlink Bot?
Which poses the question of how to use something while using the [HOW TO] tag - is a little wink towards the proper usage of r/Tasker Tags, since [HOW TO] is primarily meant to share or describe how to do something, rather than to ask a question - for which [Help] and [Request] are better Tags.
There are no absolute rule(s) as to exactly which Tag (if any) to use in your new submissions to r/Tasker, just some general guidelines, all of which are designed to enhance the community experience. Don't worry about using an incorrect Tag as it will be adjusted it if need be - rather -
Please take note of the following suggested uses:
[Help] - My Thread Title (Use for requesting help with a particular Tasker project, Profile, Task, or Action. Typically related to something you're already working on.)
[Request] - Similar to Help, Request is rather more for assistance with how to setup or layout a general idea using Tasker, or finding out if something is even possible using Tasker that you are considering.
[How To] - Begin with "How To" if you ALREADY HAVE SOMETHING and would like to SHARE your Task/Profile/Project/Methods/Etc with others here, and the world.
NEW [Tech Question] - (This is for asking a technical question related to use of the Tasker app itself i.e. installing/upgrading etc. or a component inside Tasker, like an Action, Variable, or Process that isn't clearly explained in Tasker's documentation.)
Note: Tags are not required for new submissions, they are just an added way to designate your submission and often get you a quicker response/help if that's indeed what you're looking for (or a faster share of your brilliant Tasker creation ;) Look forward to any feedback regarding the Tags!
