A Third Three Dukes Review: The Gypsy

Review

Hello again, USAWAC here with the third installment of my Three Dukes Review. You can see Part Uno, and Part Deuce via those links (in case you don’t already know how the internet works). The first one will flesh out some more details about packaging and stuff if you are interested.

Reviewing: “The Gypsy”. Just one juice this time as I was sent five and have reviewed four.

Info: Some reddit bros from Texas u/ThreeDukesVapor sent me these bottles to review at no cost to myself. Even though they posted spoilers in one of my reviews I was able to evade them so that I could effectively taste these juices blind. You may throw your money at them on their website Three Dukes.

Shipping and Packaging: For full info check review one. Sparknotes: Pretty fast shipping from Texas to the Garden State, packed securely with Styrofoam nuts and bubble wrap, blue tinted childproof glass bottles with droppers, and a nice black and white sticker.

The Scale: 0-5 as 6-10 took the night off.
0: An aroma akin to the scent of the inside of a sarcophagus. Egyptian not Goa’uld
1: I hope the creators of this stub their toe...the little one…badly.
2: Somewhere firmly between “bad” and “eh”
3: No buyer’s remorse. Recognizably decent.
4: A well-crafted juice, a perfume of a lesser angel.
5: The ambrosia of Olympus, the bee’s knees, the cats pajamas, other clichés that mean awesome.

The Juice: “Steeped” In my possession for a little over a week now. Three Dukes alleges (I don’t doubt them I just don’t have proof) that they steep their juices before sending them out. To this consumer, that is a great quality as I don’t care if my liquids are MTO or not. I like to vape my shit right when I get it (or before if that were possible) and my patience to try my new gear/juice is limited. ALL their juice is max VG (I don’t know if you can special order non-max, maybe one of the Dukes can answer) and I am sampling their 3mg.

“The Gypsy”, max VG 3%, .5ohms 35 watts on a Kanger Subtank (mini).
RATING:4.825
First thoughts: my tongue is confused. A pleasant confusion, but confused nevertheless. I cannot immediately place what I am tasting, but it reminds me of some honeysuckle I had as a child. On the inhale, a strong honeysuckle/honey/flowery front end. I am dialing up and down my wattage to see if I can separate any of the flavors, and unfortunately I cannot. I don’t make a habit of eating flowers (or vegetables, because if an animal eats vegetables and I eat that animal then I am essentially eating veggies too, right?) however I do bring some organic flowers home for my rabbit to eat, this has a similar scent. This vape tastes floral, with a bit of spice or maybe a mild tea? Regardless, I am pretty lost on whatever I am tasting, it is clear to me it isn’t one note, I just am not well endowed enough in the palette to determine what it is. It is pretty damn good though, a complex light sweetness mixed to a level in which it is tough to believe this is max VG. There is a huge element of mouth-full-ness that kicks “The Gypsy” up over the top for me that I do feel was lacking in “A study in scarlet” (leading ultimately to its 3.5, along with what I feel to be a lack of berry). I would go ape-shit over this vape with a gin and tonic, so much so that I did, and made one two (Hendricks, if you are wondering). Vodka and sprite could also work if you need something to cap off your shitty day job (lord knows I do), Gin Martini for all you classy motherfuckers, or a Gimlet if you happen to be my father’s age. For soft drinks, a light tea, sprite (sierra mist, whatever), or capri sun (original, unless you are fucking savage).

Dem Dukes say “The Gypsy” is floral and herby with an unmistakable subtle fruitiness. Well, sorry guys, it’s mistakable, I don’t know what it is. Still, it is damn tasty, so nice work. They want you to pair it with green tea, gin, tequila (blanco/plata I suppose?), and other non-aged liquors.

None of their juices made it to a score of five. I reserve a perfect score for juice that I would drip into a fleshlight. A vaping product so unparalleled it belongs in every atty on every mod I own. A liquid for which other liquids exist to relieve flavor fatigue. Make no mistakes here people, this is still some damn fine juice. Out of the five, none have scored below a three, and I am not just being generous. I have been around the block and then some in my 2ish and change years of vaping/my foray into the culinary world, and this is some good shit. Their website is classy as fuck and they offer pairing ideas. Although they haven’t slapped the word premium all over their product, rest assured in knowing that there is a flavor experience waiting for you in each bottle.

Out of the five I would say “The Gypsy” blew me away most, with “The Empress” a short distance behind. “The Duke” and “Duchess” were about the same with slightly different notes and “A study in scarlet”, while no slouch, came in last place for me. I hope my reviews were mildly entertaining and insightful for you and for those of you on the fence about ordering from the Dukes have been swayed one way or the other. Thanks for reading.
