I walked by the mirror and what did I see?
I walked by the mirror and what did I see?
Except a dimmer version of me?
It doesn’t seem right.
It doesn’t seem fair.
No more pointing and learning of the trees overhead,
No more feeling proud when your belly I have fed,
No more laughing in front of a roaring, wintertime fire,
No more walks to the creek, praising the birds, oh, their choir.
When you left us did you forget about me,
When I was small enough to be carried to sleep?
There’s a hole in my heart that you carved with your knife.
Now I’m bleeding from my core but trying to rehabilitate life.
It doesn't seem right.
It doesn't seem fair.
