Question about the Smuggler's Den and the Force Awakens: Premiere "Villains" Award

Anyone know how the "Villains" award card for the Force Awakens Premiere set will be handled?

Is there just going to be a window tomorrow morning (assuming that wasn't pushed back as well) where you can trade something for the "Villains" award? What will you trade?

It can't be the "Heroes" award card, because that doesn't drop until Monday at 12:02am... Do you have an option to forfeit getting the "Heroes" version and instead get the "Villains" version?

Any ideas?

I bet we will have to trade in the preview set hence the reason the on the move pack is out. And plus there is the Disney version of these now.

I'd be fine with this!

That would be ideal! I have two sets of that! :P

Your guess is as good as ours, but what I think, and read on the sub-reddit, it maybe having to exchange a whole set for the Villains award.

Hmm, I was afraid of that being the possibility. I don't really want to collect a second set of those - one was hard enough!

I'm also generally concerned about having to shred cards to get things like Monuments - so instead of still having a nice hoard, you'd only have the Monument card.

I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out, it's just not very clear right now.

It could be a full set. It could be shred one to get a shot at the award. Heck it could be shred 8 of any card and get one. They're being vague as normal.

And for the Monument I said last night its quality over quantity. Or could be rather. Just like how you can Prestige in CoD. You get to level 100, and choose to start back at zero with a new badge of honor to show. Not to mention trade value, much easier to trade 1 quality card instead of 1000 White for White trades.

I get it though, it'd suck to lose my 9k Qui-Gons but I'd do it in a heartbeat to get a 10 count Monument with my name on it.

I actually really like the comparison to CoD "prestiges" for the Monument. Trading in your hard work for a badge of honor, then grinding back up again is exactly what prestiging is. I should know, I always go to max prestige. lol

That's just my best guess from their vague description of it in that Transmission. It also alleviates the workflow of all the databases, spreadsheets and junk that must bog them down with every one of these. They can also run multiple ones at a time much easier. Just have a Smuggler card cost x thousand whites and let the first to get to some crazy number have it. They can tier it out as well. Have a bronze monument cost someone 1,000 whites. Have a silver be 10 bronzes and so on up the pole until eventually you get a 1 count Insanity award for getting a million of the suckers. That way it isn't a temporary chase over in 24 hours it goes until those 10 top cards are awarded. Granted that fosters people scumbagging it and not trading them away and bottlenecking people but oh well, the people truly deserving get something really special to show for their efforts in a fun way.

There's a lot of cool ideas this can foster that I'm really excited for.

If I had to choose between what I think it could be, I would choose the "Turn in a set of 8 FA Premiere cards for a Guaranteed Villains Award Card".

My fear is that it will be, "Turn in any FA: Premiere card for a 20% chance at the Villains Award Card". Yeah, you could end up turning in only 1 and getting the Award Card... or you could turn in all 8 and come up empty...

That's my fear as well - though I kind of fear both options!

For me, collecting a set means the set + the award, so I hate the idea of having to choose between one or the other, or having to collect the set twice.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of shredding inserts. Base cards, fine. Shred a Green for another shot at an Orange, fine. But I can't imagine they'd make a habit out of making you trash your inserts just for an award card.

Maybe that's why (assuming we're correct) if you do it, you get a Villains Card. It's a very dark side thing to do.

Haha, or maybe you just have to trash the heroes! :P

Redemption used to be the old school trading cards way to get the chase card. Sound theory.
