Private Student Loans?

Does anybody know how their life was after deciding to get a private student loan? Wells Fargo has a private student loan program that doesn't have a fixed interest rate (could jump from between 6% - 18% at the most) and I don't have to make payments until 6 months after graduating.

I'm in tough times at the moment and I just need to borrow about $3000 this semester and that's it. Also a senior.
