"I Used To Love The Park"--
Watching as people traverse the grass,
Under the refined summer's rays,
I sit, eyes half-closed, and thinking
"Gone now are the days."
...
The birds stretch their eager wings,
Taking to the skies as they may,
But I sit, legs planted, believing
"Gone now are the days."
...
The trees glow bright with green,
Their branches in the breeze begin to sway,
And I sit, arms folded in, reaffirming
"Gone now are the days."
...
The dirt grows moist with life,
A few shades above my decrepit gray,
While I sit, molded there, asserting
"Gone now are the days."
...
Still as a stone, stiff, cold yet pained,
Wondering if I lacked life or life lacked praise,
Eyes half-closed, legs planted
Arms folded and body molded,
I will sit, still regretting,
"Gone now are the days."
