Laptop shuts down randomly after windows 10 update

So a little backstory I had this problem before with a windows 8.1 update and when I set my pc to the point right before it updated I had no problems again. So to the problem I updated to windows 10 today and and the same old problems came back. Basically what happens is my laptop keyboard won't work and if it does its really late or only types the first character I put in (its not my keyboard because it works fine pre update both times) also my external keyboard works if that matters. The next thing is some videos on certain pages will freeze and then cause the whole page to become unresponsive and then i have to use task manager to close it. Lastly my laptop as a whole runs a whole lot slower, these are the only symptoms I've found because about 10 minutes into the chaos my laptop randomly shuts of no error no anything just instant shut off. I'm at a loss I've Googled the problem and can't really find anything similar to my experience I'm pretty sure its has something to do with that specific windows update from a while back and if it is how do I fix it while still being able to keep windows 10 I'd really hate to have to go back to 8.1 any advice would be greatly appreciated.
