How to avoid really deep cuts?
After 1.5 years of battling severe depression, I was admitted into the hospital due to a suicide attempt. Just before being admitted my cutting was VERY severe. I had to have stitches 3 times in 3 weeks. BUT those were always accidents. Just got carried away.
Now that I'm out, my cutting has started again and is back to extreme levels. 2 cuts requiring 26 combined stitches. Here's the thing....I did those ON PURPOSE. Because I absolutely love the amount of blood and the severity of the cut. It makes me so happy. Is the ultimate form of control. I've attached a pic just so you know how deep I'm talking . Be warned, it's VERY graphic.
Part of me knows how serious this is big part of me just loves it too much to care. My therapist says she's extremely concerned that I've gone from self harm to "self mutilation", and of this continues she's ethically bound to certify me again.
This is where my fellow redditors come in. I need to stop cutting THAT deep. I'm still going to cut it just can't be so severe. Does anybody have any tips on how to satisfy that need to split my leg open ?! I'm desperate here.
TL;DR: my cutting is SEVERE and I need to tone it down. Cutting is okay, needing stitches isn't.
