Homegroup problem with desktop and surface pro 2 running Windows 10 Build 10532
My surface pro 2 and my desktop are both connected to the same network. My desktop only gives me the option "available to join" [homegroup]. My Surface Pro 2 only gives me the option "ready to create" [homegroup]. This is all in the network and sharing center. I turned off my surface and my desktop finally gave me the "ready to create"[homegroup] option. I clicked it and it gave me an error message.
I have two questions... Why? .... and does it even matter which PC creates the homegroup?
My desktop never sleeps because I use it as a personal server around here. I figured it should be the homegroup creator. My surface likes to go to bed and turn off when I neglect to charge it. I am not sure how homegroup works. Is it the creator of the one ring that rules them all?
If pictures help, I have them. Thank you.
