Help me design a live VST rig - so frustrated
I play keyboard, guitar, and sing backup in a cover band. I need a way to build a song setlist and switch my keys, guitar, and vocal setting very quickly between songs. I'm open to just about any equipment that let's me to this, but I need it to be 1 button that I hit and everything switches.
Right now, I'm using Brainspawn Forte as my VST host. I run Native Instruments VSTs for keyboard, Amplitube VSTs for guitar, TC Helicon box for pitch correction and effects, and I use Brainspawn Forte as a VST host to manage everything. Forte has been very unreliable lately, and I'd like to find a better solution.
How do other people solve this problem?
I thought Reaper 5 might be the solution to the problem, since it supports VST3 and could (in theory) run Autotune live, but that plugin doesn't work well in Reaper 5 right now, plus I'd have to work pretty hard to get it to do everything that I want.
Please advise me on options here. I'm open to anything that meets the requirements able including moving to 3 different hardware boxes for the 3 different sources and using some kind of midi thing to build a setlist and handle all the switching.
Please help!
