First post. Used a Feather. Didn't die.

Hey guys, I've lurked for a long time and finally decided to post.

Short back story. I got a DE razor for my birthday back in April and really enjoy using it. It's a van der Hagen starter kit. I've been reading here and the sub has been super helpful. I've grown a beard but I use the DE to keep things neat on my face and neck.

Now to the feather. Of course, there is a initial fear of cutting yourself. Once I got over that, things went well. Yes, the blade is extremely sharp. This is a good thing. I just guided the blade to where I wanted it to go and let the blade and weight of the handle do the work. It worked great on my face but I did have some issues on my neck. Probably user error, it started to pull the hair a bit. There is some razor burn, but it's not terrible. I only did two passes on the areas I did shave. Couple dabs of after shave and it's not bad at all.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I definitely want to try more blades, soaps and brushes.

Take it easy!
