Tell me about Medford, Oregon

We're going to test the waters of living in Medford, OR. My boyfriend's family is moving down there and I he wants to follow them even though I'd rather step on broken glass then leave my hometown. I compromised by telling him I would try it for year or two. If this guy wasn't the best father to his stepkids and I wasn't head over heels with him, this may have even ended our relationship, but we need him more than we need my hometown. I'm wondering about job oppurtunity especially down there. I've got a certificate in manufacturing and he says Henry and David's is their Boeing (we live in the PNW). Places to avoid living? Best places for family living? Thanks.
