Some Basic Fates Questions (Spoilers)

Hey guys, the wait for Fates is killing me, and I have some questions I'd like answered if anyone wants to answer. Also, no huge spoilers, please.

• Can I be a "good guy" in Nohr? I know the game's morality is not black and white, but I don't want to kill much of the Hoshido cast. I love the idea of Nohr as a kingdom, but can I play Nohr and "keep my soul intact"?

• If I play Hoshido, do I need to kill the Awakening kids (or their kids)?

• Is DLC cross-compatible between cartridges of either version?

• Can I launch Invisible Kingdom from either cartridge?

• Is there any real pull to play Hoshido in an "I am the protagonist" sense? Nohr seems like the most logical option.
