Do any of you get "Awake" Apnea?
I'm not officially diagnosed w/ sleep apnea, but I do display most of the symptoms. (loud snoring, occassionally waking up gasping for air.)
That said, it seems that 2, maybe 3 times (a year only, thankfully.) If I swallow my own spit randomly or the "wrong" way, (usually when I'm really relaxed and try and go to dial up my breathing again) - I'll get what I call 'awake' apnea, and I'll start gasping for air, totally awake, for 10's of seconds at a time. It's pretty jarring and scary - and my stomach usually hurts for quite awhile after as I apparently swallow a lot of air, yet I can hardly get any in my lungs.
So does anyone here, officially diagnosed w/ SA experience these kinds of symptoms, too?
