Pros/Cons to worong pickups straight to jack?

Im going to be dropping some new pickups in a jbass, and Im considering bypassing the normal wiring and wiring the bridge pickup straight to the jack.

Hows the output? Would the output be similar to max knob position, or something different? Are there any cons to doing this with a matched pickup set? The only reason Im considering it is because I never futz with the bridge pickup. I turn the neck up and down to compensate for low end here and there, but thats it.
