TIFU by aggravating my property manager
The FU happened a fe days ago, but it was only today that I realised how much I'd fucked up. Basically, hubby and I were pissed off about the property manager reporting us for something petty. I decided that since she was going to utilise the laws to her advantage, so was I. I sent through to her no less than 14 maintenance requests all at once. Today I came home from work, and there's an eviction notice* in the mailbox giving us 90 days to move out.
*Before the post blows up about it, the notice says that we are getting the boot for no specific reason. This is completely legal because our contract term ended July 2014, and we've been on a month-to-month agreement since then. As far as legal action goes, we can take the real estate to tenancy tribunal and say that the notice is retaliatory. The real estate doesn't really have grounds to argue otherwise, but I haven't decided yet if it's worth the time and effort to pursue. They did also send through an email saying they were withdrawing the notice, but we haven't decided yet if we're going to let them (both parties must agree to withdrawal). As it is, we want to move ASAP so we don't have to deal with them anymore, and with an eviction notice in place, we don't have to give the 21 days notice we normally would.
