Message Journaling, Mailmeter vs HPCA vs EV vs ...
Greetings fellow sysadmins and messaging admins,
Our company is currently looking at implementing a message journaling solution for Exchange.
We're currently considering our options, on the table are MailMeter, Autonomy and also Enterprise Vault.
The only requirement is Journaling, meaning the HP and Symantec solutions would be deployed with that feature only, and not any other data archiving features they have. Mailmeter is obviously specialized to messaging only already.
Nice to have would be the ability to import our historical Lotus Notes mailboxes, as well as provide some sort of End User archive. (Given that we're storing the data already, why not allow users to retrieve it if needed...)
Any of you have experiences with these products?
Currently, MailMeter seems like the best option available. It meets the requirements, and has some additional useful features. Price and needed Infrastructure are also fairly attractive vs the other solutions. However, it would be a new and unproven (to us) piece of software...
On the other hand we have HP and Symantec offering enterprise class software. To me it feels like a waste to implement such a monster, and then I need up using only a small part of its capabilities. But there are no plans to use anything beyond the Journaling modules at this time.
Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences. cheers!
