Will pokemon that had their ability changed to HA with powersaves be able to give HA offspring?

Question

[q]I ask because I made some pokemon HA for my friend to use in his Masuda Methods. Today he started Tyrunt which I had powersaved Sturdy on. However, after hatching a whole box, none of them hatched HA. So he tried with a few other pokemon I had made HA for him, such as Blitle and Trubbish. Also no HA after hatching a batch of pokemon. (edited to add that they are indeed female and SHOULD be passing down the ability as usual)

I don't understand why this is happening, is this just how it is or is he really unlucky? Did I do something wrong? The pokemon has HA after I powersave it on. It should pass down through breeding just as if I change pokeball, nature or IVs, correct? I change ability by changing the tool number to the ability # and selecting the first option in powersaves (I think it says tool item in slot #6 = ability), am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone else run into this issue?

edit: he sent me this message. O.O I think I figured it out. Unfortunately no way to fix it. Maybe it views a hacked ability as hacked ability. So even if it's an ability it actually gets it doesn't pass. Like if you hacked flower veil onto tyrunt obviously it won't pass. But you'd still get the effects of it. Likewise maybe it reads HAs like that as well where you get the effect but it doesn't read as HA since you hacked it on, it doesn't pass.

Maybe he's onto something? But I don't understand why it would work this way!
