Beginner looking for budget/environmentally friendly product suggestions

I am looking to switch away from cartridges and canned foam to something a little more budget and environmentally friendly. Looking for some pros/cons for SR/DE, price points, and rubbish (plastics,etc), along with some product suggestions. Cheers!
