first dry hit ever, is my coil ruined for sure?

it was very unpleasant but since it was the first time for me (my first time using a non temp control coil) so I guess it was a beginner mistake. I let the tank get too low.

my question is, is it possible for the coil to not be damaged? or does any severity of dry hit damage the coil no matter what?

anyone know? I sure hope it's fine. thanks
