Can someone explain what is going on? (Civ V Arabia PMS)

Ok so I was friends with arabia the entire game (I am sweden), we had a DoF and a defensive pact and everything and as you can see all of the diplo modifiers are green, and then one turn he randomly turns hostile and shit talks me, but then immediately asks to renew our defensive pact and all of the diplo modifiers are still green!

I know the AI is always pmsing in this game but usually they denounce you and the modifiers turn red after they flip their shit. In this case he just turned hostile, said my army was weak, and then everything else continued as if he was still freindly. What is happening???
