Unfranchise Business, Market America Legit or Scam?

Does anyone have experience with this field? It sounds a bit too good to be true -- able to earn a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars residually with minimal effort. It's an upside-down pyramid scheme, it seems like. I'm still not sure how it works despite going to one info meeting.

There were many people who went up to the stage and told their testimonies, how they were able to bring in extra thousands each month for little work. The top of the line people claimed they were making $30,500 a month on the side, while the newer people who just joined claimed to be making $100 so far on the side.

So, how legit is this business?

I noticed the revenue: $6.2 billion dollars. So the people who went up to speak don't sound like hired actors.
