Posing in formals - where do you tell them to put their hands?

Been going back and forth on this for awhile now. I'm definitely not a fan of "dead hands" for both men and women (hand hanging to the side like this but for men theres obviously no bouquet so the hands are free to do whatever.

I've been telling them to put their hands in their pockets all the way or just the thumb out like this but I've gotten flak from people saying "my parent's always told me never to put my hands in my pockets because it's bad manners" but you can obviously see that male models are doing it all the time

For women without a bouqet it's either skinny arms or hand behind back.

So what do you tell your people?
