Why I love Morrowind right now.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say this quick. It's late, I'm tired, and this might just sound like a bunch of rambling, but I have to take a second to thank Morrowind for being as great as it is.

See, I started with Skyrim, and then got really into Oblivion once I built a PC. I played the shit out of those games and loved how nice the graphics were (yes, I do think Oblivion's graphics have a certain... "charm" to them). I had bought Morrowind, and had it installed, but never played it much because of the dated graphics and physics.

Fast forward a couple years, and I've moved into college. It's been about a month, and when I moved in I had to leave my desktop at home. So I didn't have my huge library of games at my disposal. The laptop I have is nice, but not nearly beefy enough to run games like Skyrim.

So there I was, bored out of my mind after a long homework session a few days ago, and I thought "why don't I download a less graphically-intensive game for my laptop to kill some time?"

After downloading Morrowind I realized just how much I've been missing out on. I grabbed a spare notebook from under my desk and have been using it as a "journal." It's littered with little scribblings and small maps/drawings. The lack of fast travel threw me off at first, but I absolutely love the sense of adventure it gives to the game. I can't believe I never gave this game a serious chance before, it's unbelievable.

The first quest I started was with the Thieves Guild. Getting used to sneaking/stealing was tough, but it's rather enjoyable. I also found out about the ability to taunt/intimidate NPCs. Now one of my favorite things to do is taunt an NPC into attacking me, and seeing the repercussions of those actions. People actually treat you like crap if you kill an innocent person!

Anyways, that's my rant. Sorry for the random post, and for the broken up structure. I just finished with a 3 hour Morrowind session and had to put this out there before I fall asleep...
