No Prize No Ice Cream

A while back I went to the boardwalk in a beach vacation town with a bunch of friends. It was a weekday night during the end of the summer, so it wasn't too crowded. We would go to a bar have some drinks, leave and play carnival games. Then repeat. We walked up to this bb gun shooting game, the game you got a full automatic bb gun and like 30 bbs. The object of the game is to shoot the red star on a paper target and make all the red star disappear.

The teenage carnival kid running the game said," Hey I'll make you a deal, if all seven of you play I'll give the one that shoots out the most red a prize." It sounded like a great deal so we all payed $5 and had fun shooting these bad ass bb guns. The game was over and one of my friends almost shot all the red star out but not the entire star. We asked for our prize and the carnie said," None of you win, you didn't shoot all the red away." We said yeah we know but what about the deal, the kid then just pointed at a sign that stated the rules and waved us away.

I was very mad about being cheated and had to get revenge.

After we walked away from the game I saw a cute carnie girl bring my nemesis a bowl of ice cream. It was an ice cream cone upside down sitting in a paper bowl.

Right after getting his ice cream a dad and his son and daughter walked up to his booth and asked to play. The carnie set his ice cream cone down right next to the far left target and began setting up the guns for the kids.

I knew this was my time to strike, I asked if I could play 1 more time, paid him and picked up the far left bb gun. Another little kid walked up on the far right of the booth. The carnie gestured to the 2 other kids and I that we could shoot while he was helping the 3rd little kid.

I picked up the bb gun and fired 3 shots into the target. Then checked to see if the carnie was looking at me. He wasn't. I then aimed at his bowl of ice cream and pulled the trigger. It was magical just ice cream and cone flying everywhere. I kept firing until I had no more bullets. I then placed the bb gun on the counter and walked away.

I walked about 30 feet away from the booth and I leaned against a soda machine and waited for the carnie to come back to his bowl of ice cream. The look on his face when he went to pick up the bowl was priceless.

Best 5 dollars I have ever spent.
