Assholes in the medical field
I'm a college student, interested in medicine. The biggest deterrent to me doing this isn't the ungodly amount of school (and subsequent student debt), the some-what crappy current job market, or anything actually pertaining to the work. It's the people that work in the field.
There is such a huge sense of elitism, and honestly, as a person still working on their BS, I'm going to have questions. Some of them are going to be dumb, at least in the eyes of someone who is going through / has finished the graduate work. But holy god, no need to be a jerk about it. I swear, every time I submit something to a medical-related forum, either to ask a question or give my own opinion, I'm immediately looked down on because I'm still in school. I get it, I don't have experience in the field. I get it, you make six figures a year, have years of experience, and your own lofty opinions. Doesn't mean you need to be a dick about it. Take some time to educate the next generation of your career's workforce.
