17 days

my dad recently wrote a book and i was at an event where a lot of people including family were around and talking to each other. i get very uncomfortable in situations like this and i get especially uncomfortable with relatives. but i was pleasant and gritted my teeth through the whole thing without any alcohol. i think the last time i didn't drink at an event involving family was when i was like 15.

i was talking to my dad later about it and he said it's something he worked at too. like a skill. a skill i never really bothered with because i dealt with it by drinking. i mean when i was getting loaded it was a piece of cake, i'm like a totally different person. that doesn't count though. gotta do it the right way, the real way. which is harder for me.

anyways, here's to another sober day.
