How does one travel from the US (or Europe) to Taiwan without taking a ridiculously long (8+ hr) flight?

Question

My situation is: I live in NY. I'll be in Prague in one month. How can I get from Prague to Taiwan without wanting to kill myself? It's just that I hate flights; I hate the feeling of complete isolation, that no matter how hard I tried, there's no where I could go. On a train or bus or boat at least I can jump off.

Freighter cruises seem super expensive but I would be down, any experience with this?

Also I'm open/able to go to various points in between, for example train from here to there and bus or run or fly 4 hours. Just not 10 hours. Even 6 hours is okay. 7 is pushing it.
