i5 + GTX970 - 150-200 fps on low settings?

hey guys, my GTX 560 died recently, replaced it with a GTX970. I get into game expecting 300 fps solid, and im getting what my gtx 560 was pushing. 150-200 fps. My settings and resolution are low, so I really cant understand whats going on. Anyone have any idea or fixes for this?
