My Church if putting on a Seminar on Christian relationships and Dating, and I need your help!
I've been kind of a lurker here, posting every now and again. I've always respected the community here, and I was wondering if you all could help me and my 'team' (me) with advice on which topics are the most important to cover when it comes to Christian relationships, and dating. It's a normal kind of 'summit'/seminar- we'll meet on a Saturday, and spend a few hours discussing multiple topics and addressing Christian issues concerning dating and relationships. I do have some ideas, but would love to get some help on ideas for the break out sessions- where we offer classes people can choose to go to. In the main discussions the suggested topics up for discussion are:
- Purity/ CAN YOU LOSE IT?/ What does it mean to have it?
- Christian dating ins't the only way- being single is an option
- What Honor God looks like in a dating relationship
All of those are things we're still mulling over, and we're wondering about how to present these things to larger and hopefully diverse crowds. Now, we don't really have a ton of ideas concerning the smaller class room settings.
If you churchses have discussed these types of things, would you mind giving me suggestions? If your church hasn't or you have had ideas, I'd love your suggestions too. This is the first time we've ever done anything like this at my church, and we're hoping to do it professionally, but we can only honor God by leaning into him and asking what he desires of us concerning this topic. The church has felt the need to address the topic in our own church, but also fear the larger population of Christians might be in the dark about these things- that's why were opening it all up. Any suggestions guys? We'll have worship, snacks available, and contact points to local churches around the area. What would be good to include in something like this?
