Moving to the Top lane. Any tips?

I've mained top before way back in season 3 because my ranked team at the time needed a top laner. Right now I'm starting to pick it up again and have a few questions: 1) Aside from the juggers who are the best tops? Right now my pool is GP, Hec, Olaf. 2) 99% of the time I take Ignite over TP because I can finish off my opponent with it but I guess I gotta learn how to use TP. What's some good advice for TP? 3) I tend to split push all game. I don't really group until after I get the middle turret top. Should I be grouping after the first tower? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
