I think it's extraordinary.

I'm a receptionist for a publishing company so I don't know if I'm allowed to post here but I had a pretty interesting conversation. This is my first post so please excuse any errors :)

A lady called this morning, my first call of the day. I speak to hundreds of people throughout a regular week but I'm generally pretty good at remembering people. I had spoken to this lady previously about 3 or 4 times and she had been reasonably pleasant every other time. This time, however, not so much.

LL = Lawyer Lady Me = Me

Me: good morning so and so publishing, this is me*

LL: Hi, I'm looking for S (a co-worker of mine)

Me: No worries, I'll just grab a couple of details from you, what was your name?

LL: *tells name

Me: and your company?

LL: *tells company

Me: And what was it regarding?

LL: You know, I think it's extraordinary.

Me: I'm sorry?

LL: I'm a lawyer, calling from a law firm, looking for a law journalist. What do you think it's regarding you nosy child??

Me: *turns on ultra friendly to the point of obnoxious voice NO PROBLEM. I WILL FIND HER.

She wasn't there so I had to take a message and asked again what it was regarding (you know, because it's MY JOB)

LL: IT'S IN REGARDS TO AN INTERVIEW YOU STUPID CHILD

at this point I ended the phone call. I reported her to my manager and also to the journalist and editor of the magazine she was trying to contact. We won't be running her stories anymore.
