Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a lot better than I thought it was.
I originally played Assassin's Creed Brotherhood around the time it first came out by renting it. I hadn't finished the story in AC2 yet at that point but it was one of my favorite games of all time. But when I went to play Assassins's Creed Brotherhood I thought it was nowhere near as good as the previous game. I don't know what it was but something just felt missing, maybe the story didn't make sense to me or something but after I returned it I never considered playing it again and never bothered with Revelations either. I played AC3 when it came out though and I enjoyed it immensely, I still can't decide if I prefer it over AC2 though. But I never liked Connor anywhere as much as Ezio, I hated his attitude and how he just lacked Ezio's swagger.
Just last week all the Assassin's Creed titles went on special on 360 for just $2.50 each which is a huge bargain. I just finished playing AC3 about a month ago after that went on sale. I decided I'd finally buy AC2 and finish the story and maybe play the original too so I can see how it all started. It turned out when I rented AC2 I pretty much played the whole story and loaded my save to find I only had to collect the codex pages before I finished the final memory.
So I finished the story and quickly got bored of trying to get 100% but I wanted to see more of Ezio! So I decided to buy Brotherhood and Revelations since $2.50 is so cheap and I was pleased to see that the Brotherhood's story continues directly from where the last one left off. I'm not several hours into the game and I gotta say it's a lot better than I thought it was originally. I'm finally getting the hang of using Assassin Signals and the story makes a lot more sense now. But most of all I'm just happy that I get to see more of Ezio! I'm really glad I decided to give this game another shot because it definitely deserved it!
I've noticed that Revelations description says things like "Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of the legendary mentor Altair" so after I finish Brotherhood, I'm going to go back and play the original Assassin's Creed so I can see Altair's whole story before I move on to finish Revelations. Then all I'll have left to beat is Black Flag which I got when it was free. Gonna feel good to beat the whole series. not including the next gen ones :)
