Moving to San Antonio soon, but visiting this week to check it out. Care to help me figure a couple of things out?

This week me and my fiance will be visiting your lovely city to find a home to move to in early Oct. We will be staying with friends on the northwest side near Woodlawn Lake. It seems like visiting downtown will be reasonable. My fiance recently graduated, and we are hoping to find work for her in town.

What are some nice places for us to visit for dinner? Anything with a good atmosphere and choice of beers would be awesome!

Anyone live near Woodlawn Lake/bandera? Do ya like it?

Anyone work in any industrial design related fields? We are having trouble locating a lot of opportunities to check out. We have found some, but would like to explore all our options.

How far is it to college station? The biggest thing I am going to miss about home is SEC football, and we want to make the trip to the Auburn game in November.
