I've made a series of gfycats showcasing plays, used by the Seahawks in 2012, that I believe we could have benefited from in both red zone, 4th and 1 as well as mid field situations opposed to what we did during the Rams game.

I believe this play is something we could have benefited from in times when we were in the Red Zone and didn't convert. While we don't have Braylon Edwards (who catches the TD in the gif) I think a play like this would have been perfect to Jimmy, Baldwin or Matthews in the Red Zone.

One problem I think we had during the Rams, and have had before in dysfunctional games where we have a lull, is that we don't go deep enough. I distinctly remember, notably in 2012 that we would go deep to PDB a lot and try to stretch the field a lot more and be less predictable on offense. I know people will say that we can't go deep very often because of the o-line, but as you can see in the gif, Russell was able to escape pressure and fire a shot deep in < 3 secs. I believe against someone like the Rams we could also achieve the same play with a bootleg.

With Jimmy Graham at TE, a play like this is perfect for utilizing him in the red zone or even in a 4th/3rd and 1 situation. I reckon we could have easily done this as the defense would have had a large focus on Lynch possibly running and stacking the box, so if we had a bunch TE set and have Jimmy run an out route he would likely have been open/1 on 1.

This is a similar scenario as above.

With this play, we keep the defense honest with the play action and having the defense delay themselves as they have to prepare in case we give it to Lynch, which opens us up downfield with capable recievers in Lockett, Baldwin, Matthews, Graham etc.

Another deep pass I think we could use a lot more often in games like the Rams one.

I think a PA rollout like this one would have been ideal for that 4th and 1 situation, as well as red zone situations. It stretches the field and shows the defense we're not afraid to go wide and utilize the width of the field.
In conclusion, I think a lot of our play from 2012, compared to the last 2 years show the gradual degradation of Bevell at OC and how he tries to be too cute, too often, instead of using simple and effective vanilla offense to get done what we need. There were a lot of other plays that i couldn't find, such as HB tosses and such that could also apply here but I think you guys will get my point. I appreciate any feedback!
