[Discussion] #GamerGate has spawned ~400,000 subs across multiple sub-reddits/discussion sites. The bulk of the games media is still corrupt, interest group funded and peddling the myopic narrative harder than ever before; where to from here?

DISCUSSION

Business as usual? Status quo? Devise a way for better coordination? Devise a grand strategy to bring Gawker-esque pro censorship/social policing spin publications to their knees above and beyond previous attempts?

Simply put, how does one clean up internal/institutional industry corruption from the outside?

Set up alternative games journalism media and if so in what form? Many would suggest YouTube, but that once again centralizes mass coverage to just a few key individuals-recipe for corruption/transience. The most genuine singular personalities fade into obscurity or inevitably die.

Push for reform? Broadening the scope a little with an associated observation: In which instance, during which period of history, has corruption willingly reformed itself out of existence in any meaningful capacity?

Take democracy and the rule of law for example, we just legalized political bribery and institutionalized oligarchy, 1% of the peeps own over 50% of the wealth, media and political influence in most developed countries. Family and business dynasties still become our leaders. They and their associates have their own legal avenues to escape punishment for dubious actions. Victorious Achievement? No. Fail.

So shitlords of many political creeds, social viewpoints and sexual orientations that believe in ethical conduct, the right to speak ones minds and present reasoned opposing viewpoints on all fronts; what do you suggest?
