Polycystic ovaries but hormones are fine. What gives?
Whenever I've gotten an ultrasound, the physical signs of PCOS are there. My ovaries look... well, they look bubbly. They're definitely PCOS ovaries. Additionally, I have symptoms of PCOS: frequent pelvic pain throughout the month, extreme period pain (the "give me narcotics" kind), irregular periods, hirsutism, ruptured cysts, etc.
My gynecologist diagnosed me with PCOS because of my symptoms and ultrasound data, but we're both a little confused because my hormones are totally normal. Nonetheless, he prescribed me metformin to see if it would help.
Thoughts?
