Wish list of features or mods you would like in Fo4.

Suggestion

Looked through the front 4 pages and didn't see anything quite like this so thought I would toss it up as I'd like to share my hopes for things to come and would be very interested in seeing others. This will be about things that I believe will add a TON of enjoyment beyond a simple mod that adds thomas the train or the like.

  1. More complex slider difficulty - By this I mean we get a few slider options instead of just one for how we choose to make the game harder. Such as follows.

Enemy damage Fairly simple, this would just increase how hard people hit. I don't think this would be any trouble at all to add and, I have no idea so correct me if I'm wrong, is probably already included in the difficulty setting for other Bethesda games. Harder hitting enemies are the first step towards more immersive combat, at least for me, because it adds threat.

Number of enemies Now this sounds like "eh what ever." at first, and I had the same reaction until I tried a mod in skyrim that made it so the amount of enemies that would randomly spawn had a far greater range. Lets say default was a range of 1-3 on average and rarely could get as high as 5. The mod changed it so 3-5 would be the average and rarely you would see 8 or 9. Again this was so awesome to play because it added a ton of immersion for me. Most of the time you could just blaze through a pack of mobs with out worry, but when its 9 you have to ask yourself do you want this fight or is it better to avoid and run away.

Smarter AI I believe they already mentioned that the AI for each type of mob will be smarter and reflect their association, so we may be good here. But just to add what I'm looking for is building on the difficulty front, where if I'm engaged in combat with lets say 5 people. 3 will continue to shoot at me while using items, like grenades or healing if they were wounded, and 2 others flank. I realise there is a limit to what can be done on modern hardware but I played a skyrim mod that did this pretty well.

  1. Better UI - Lots of talk of skyrim here but its the most recent set of mods in my mind. The default skyrim UI was alright, but skyUI was just so much better. I hope we get some of that in here. I actually think they talked about this very thing and how it was turning out great. The idea of a hotkey for grenades legit had me say outloud to myself "Fuck yes."

  2. Depth for melee combat - I was so happy to see them talk about in detail how they've paid a great deal of attention to giving the player a much richer experience with guns. Not quite a direct quote but "Instead of forgiving the shooting mechanics of fallout 3 for being a rpg shooter we wanted to improve the mechanics to be on par with modern shooters." which is awesome. But I didn't really see anything on melee which bummed me out. It felt pretty awful in Fo3 and beyond a critical execution I didn't see much for Fo4. To me this is odd considering that these people made skyrim, which didn't have perfect combat but the melee system in that was pretty alright and would be fun for this.

Theres lots of other things I would love to see but I feel this would fit in well enough with the vanilla game setting and add so much fun they should be added to the core game. What do you think about my list and what are your hopes for things to come?
