High needs Toddler.
He is just about three years old. Our struggles are pretty similar as always. Eye contact, over zealous greetings. But also personal space. For both of us. I attempt to follow attachment parenting, but I'm flawed.
I now have a very very verbal toddler who has no respect for my personal boundaries but angrily states his own. He will climb on my head when I'm seated, persistently and with joy. But I haaate that. I can't suggest anything else in that moment because he is too thrilled to be bashing my nose in with the back of his head.. If i remove myself from the situation and explain that it's my personal space. He yells 'No space, mama!' then runs off telling me not to look at him.
His words are sharp and not very kind, quite often. Telling anyone ever not to look at him, no talking, need space. I can respect a child who can express their boundaries but a bit of manners would suffice... But once i correct him, I'm on enemy lines. "Z, are you saying you want space? We can say, please i need space"
3 is a loud age, I've heard. A sassy age. I'm skurred, guys..
