Difficulty levels?

I don't own TTK (poor student) but i did buy the old dlc before update 2.0. If i want to play now i can not change the difficulty settings for ANYTHING. The only possible options for mission are easy or impossible, which i obiviously cannot play. What happenend to the difficult strikes and the hard mode in missions? I played my new dlc missions and got crappy rewards because i had to do them on easy. And the daily strikes and heroic strikes are abcent as well?

Any clarification would be welcome, i kinda feel fucked over if the only way to enjoy the game now is if i spend 40 euros on a bloody DLC. I don't have that kind of money.
