I have no idea what to make of this.

So, after much thought, I've decided to post here to see whats going on with this.

I haven't had much happen to me other that whats happened to other people around me except for a couple incidents a number of years ago. Usually stuff seems to just stay away from me. With as much interest as I have in the paranormal, I've never been able to see of sense anything unless I have and I had no idea that I was.

What's been happening is that lately I've been waking up to something barking in my ear. This has happened I think about 2-3 times, once whatever I heard barked twice.

We do have a dog, a pug, but usually I make sure she goes out before I go to bed just to make sure she doesn't bark and wake me up to go out. She's 3 years old, and her potty habits are pretty much a set thing. BUT, each time I've heard this bark, I do go and check on her. She's always in a loaf fast asleep. So, I'm like "Huh." She has woken me up before but the bark I hear is completely different from her normal bark, as it sounds far away and the one I hear is right in my ear.

This is really annoying for me because of the lengths I have to go to get good sleep. I have to drink a half a neuro sleep and take a half of a tab sleeping aid, wear ear plugs, put a pillow over my head, set the AC to 68, have about 5 pillows in place and throw a blanket over the whole production to sleep. I also have to have some sort of noise going, be it the tv or white noise. I also sleep on the couch and mostly during the day.

What prompted me to post about this is this happened yesterday after I had been asleep about 3-4 hours. I heard a bark in my ear. This is with my ear plugs and a pillow over my head. I usually wait a few minutes to see if it is actually the pug because she'll bark a lot if she needs something. I got up and checked the pug - just a loaf as always, so I go back to bed and find that part of my blanket is wet. Before anyone asks, no, I did not wet myself. I don't have night sweats and it wasn't drool, as the wet spot was by my knee. I checked the couch and a part on the inside edge was damp, but that was by my knee as well and I don't sleep with my body pressed to the couch. That was the only part that was damp; the rest was dry. I also check the ceiling and other things that people have pointed out in other threads concerning similar experiences, like sleep drinking or knocking liquids on themselves. It is also not a neighbor's dog because I never hear dogs in this neighborhood, nor could I with all the steps I go through NOT to hear things l like that.

This is not a usual thing whatsoever. But, I have heard things before that have woken me up like this but never just a bark. Usually it is a human voice that has woken me up - like once I heard my mom calling my name and she wasn't even in the house. A couple minutes later she pulled up in the drive way. Another time I've woken up to something with a male voice just .... talking and before I realized that it wasn't my audio book playing, which at the time would have been impossible, I only had time to remember the last two words it said before it stopped, which was "..and tenderness." These things happened years ago before I was married.

The only thing that I have changed recently is that I've been doing positive affirmations to myself before I go to sleep and trying to have more lucid dreams. Each time I've heard this bark has been some part of my dream that may have been important or perhaps something I shouldn't see. I don't have nightmares. Just long story-like dreams that lately have become more and more vivid and I'm becoming more and more lucid in them. I don't know if the bark has anything to do with these new activities. I do think it is a bark though because if I heard something else in my ear, I think I would wake up very freaked out. I can reason with a bark, it's not unusual. Unless it's coming from something I can't see right in my ear.

On a side note, I have been sensing something is different lately but I don't know quite what it is. This house, as far as I know is just a house.

tl;dr: I'm waking up to barking in my ear and I have no idea what it is. I just recently woke up to the bark in my ear and had unexplained wet spots on my blankets that aren't from anything that I've investigated.

Thoughts?
