Hello everyone, long time lurker, first time poster / builder. I had spent most of my time growing up playing console games and not really having a want / need to have anything more advanced then the day to day office computer. I spent some time researching, and got really invested in the numbers, compatibility, and overall science of computers. I was always interested in what was inside mine, and I hadn't had very much knowledge prior to this adventure.

I was given the money as a high school graduation present, along with saving from my job and umpiring to build this. At first, I had a Corsair CX430M power supply. The reason for not using it is pretty humorous now, I had been building my computer late at night after the parts had gotten in. I was tired, and inexperienced, however I pressed on despite my long day. I mounted the power supply using screws about 4x too large, as you can probably guess, I shorted the board and when I plugged the whole unit in I blew a breaker in the dining room.

Fast forward a week for me to get paid, I bought what Best Buy had and got the Thermaltake 600W. The only downfall is the overall cosmetic appearance of the new PSU along with it being non modular.

Overall I am really happy with the build, and will be planning on upgrading to the GTX 970 or SLI GTX 2 960's. I'm waiting for Black Friday, and my work bonus in order to find the best deal. Thanks for reading!
