What is the meta like?

I was thinking about getting into this game in preparation for when Fire Emblem Cipher hopefully comes to NA someday. I've learned how to play the game over the years and I'm familiar with the mechanics they introduced as the game evolved such as limit break and legion.

What I'm wondering about is the meta similar to ygo where the game is really stale and only a few decks are played every format because most decks from the past have been pushed out due to powercreeping? Or are clans relatively balanced and some decks inch ahead of others?
