Main oculus cinema
Is there any reason that the main cinema is not an option to use with streamtheater? I get home, void and vr. How can I make it use the big cinema? This is an excellent app and I highly suggest the developer consider taking someone on to market this application before all their work goes down the drain. You see, 80% of people who use the gear vr probably do not even know this application exists and I'd bet you that 95% of those people wish they could stream their desktop, live sporting events, internet television, games etc to their gear vr. Most people probably consider the future of things to come with vr will be this application, not realising that it is already available and very simple to use. The other reason marketing this application and foremost getting those who want it, actually using it is important is because soon the consumer version will come out and it will have an application that does exactly what this one does and the developer of this app who put all this work into it and got the people using it and answered everyone's questions and spent all his time working on this format, will lose everything because support got thrown behind someone else who just copied this application. There are many apps out there making press releases about what their app is and what it can do and what to expect and those are the apps that get noticed by oculus because those apps have people behind it doing the ground work of investing time into marketing the app, which is then taken more seriously than a single bloke making an app and doing everything himself. The developer of this application obviously is a one man team and a major company like oculus can not really afford to put support behind a one man team due to that one man team not having a support crew behind it. Kind of like these treasure hunters who say they found a national gold train. They would jot have been taken seriously if they hadn't first gone to pay for a lawyer to stake their claim. If they staked their claim first it wouldn't of been taken as serous as them putting the money into the legal fees and doing it properly. So I think this developer might lose out to another company who has a team behind them. This could be easily funded by crowd funding and some supportive people if the developer opened up his doors to a team. He needs a marketing director, branding, technology support and customer service person. I for one would love to help with the marketing and I have a CV for that developer which most would consider impressive. I've worked marketing for major international customers and as a right hand man for one of the most famous people on the planets side hobby project outside of his billion dollar empire. I'd love to support this application and get everyone knowing about it if this developer wanted to put a team together and make this a marketable product. Oculus either hires people who make good products such as the vr cinema guy, or they hire people to make the same thing. As a grass roots company it appears they like to hire those who put the work in like this developer, but then it also appears that depending on where that person resides and if they actually put effort into marketing the app, sometimes it's easier for them just to hire someone else to do it for them. The developer needs to trademark the streamtheater and copyright is automatic the second you have put a design on paper. It needs branding, logo etc, it needs a website and contact details for the support etc. Once that is done it is impossible for the big companies not to take notice of it. I think you have the perfect people in this sub reddit to get behind you and for a team to push this app to the light of day. Imagine selling it at $10 a pop to a million people over next couple of years. It could be the most important application for virtual reality. This would not be hard at all to get the initial crowd funding to cover set up and marketing costs. You could simply offer 0.01% shares of such company for $10 each plus a free copy. Get 1,000 people chipping in which would be basic and you have ten grand for initial expenses. Sell. It on google play store for cardboard to keep revenue coming in and then see all the platforms that you can make it available for and earn your spot on the oculus home screen. In years to come oculus will be taking a cut of everything sold through their store and they will literally be able to name their own currency and get a cut of doctors appointments etc. Their shares in Facebook will go from $95 to $1500 in a matter of five years and having an important and integral app that is part of their community will be worth millions. The developer surely wants to be part of that, who wouldn't. Oculus will soon enough be adopted by all Vr formats because it is oculus and Facebook who have gotten all the major companies and brands like imax and dream works, Marriott, quantas, signed up and on board. At some point oculus will be the google play store of the Vr world. Imagine the amount of money people will be paying to buy stupid clothes for their virtual avatars and all that jazz. Oculus will be making billions. Or Facebook. To the developer , you need to get a team together asap be for you miss out. Market this baby because I'd bet you that the majority of people only wish they could stream their desktop and Netflix and so on to their gear vr and that the majority of those don't even know this is possible. Even just putting 40 hours of labour into marketing this will make a drastic difference as to how it stands at the moment. I think you have made a brilliant application which every gear vr must have and I really hope you start looking at this from a business sense and put a team together before you miss out. You already have something that works and does this. Nobody else has this available to anyone except you so you need to make the most of what you have now before you miss out to someone else. At the end of the day, what have you got to lose? I know I'd donate my time and my experience with marketing to get you off the ground and I'm sure others here would be able to fill vital slots in being part of the ground team. This is that once in a lifetime product that you make which makes you filthy rich of makes you look back kicking yourself for letting someone copy you and make the fortune that was yours already.
